The All Souls Procession is perhaps one of the most important, inclusive and authentic public ceremonies in North America today. The Procession had its beginnings in 1990 with a ritualistic performance piece created by local artist Susan Johnson, who was grieving the passing of her father. Inspired by Mexico’s Dia de los Muertos holiday, Johnson felt she should honor her father in celebration and creativity. The performance was very well received and many artists were inspired to continue growing the Procession into its modern incarnation. ( taken from All Souls Procession )

Barrio Viejo serves as one of the largest concentrations of adobe buildings in the U.S.
Established in the 1800s, Barrio Viejo is one of Tucson’s oldest neighborhoods and through itsHispanic style and culture it takes Tucson back to its roots.
Known for its adobe row style homes, like those seen in Mexico, some of the structures in this historic neighborhood have been standing for more than 100 years.
While the adobe is wearing, and the buildings' ages are no secret, many argue that the historic look is part of what makes the barrio such an important piece of Tucson history.

I checked out the new bar last night that opened Thursday on Congress; Playground.
Playground opened by Kade Mislinski who also owns The hub- has done a wonderful job.
The atmosphere is fun!
Lots of intimate private areas and creative fun visuals.
My favorite the hanging swingings above the bar!
I had “The Sling” which was tasty ( I am craving one just thinking about it).
One thing that did bother me on the menu was there was not a large price
range between the drinks on the menu. I believe they had 8 dollar drinks and 9 dollar
drinks- which is expected with fancy fun choices but it seems like most places have a
page with six dollar & eight dollar, seven & ten… you get my drift! Some drinks have way
more alcohol, better quality & quantity not worth eight bucks. Just my opinion.
OH, and the guys in the front with the suits- really ought to go. If they had been at my Playground. I would have been hiding for all of recess. Maybe something nice but comfortable…. not creepy CIA.
Anyhow, Playground is fun. Something very different from the usual downtown Tucson.
Check it out!
